SVP Commercial Strategy

Our client, a leading Branded Food Group has retained Connect Search to recruit a SVP Commercial Strategy. Reporting to the President, this newly created role will be part of the senior leadership team and be responsible for driving commercial performance across all areas of the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic counsel and leadership to influence and impact strategy and advise the EVP and Sr. Management team on issues and opportunities
  • Inspire and partner with a team of professionals, including agencies and key division functions including operations, marketing, business development, research and development, consumer insights, etc. Communicate commercialization and business strategy throughout the organization to effectively align efforts
  • Serve as the Commercial division lead for M&A evaluation and implementation
  • Provide business support on due diligence and integration processes of M&A
  • Work with external parties to engage on potential acquisition targets
  • Provide and evaluate ongoing business analytics for new business development and margin enhancement
  • Develop business case for new products/technology in the Commercial division
  • Provide necessary information and lead internal business evaluation in order to achieve the necessary project decisions to drive projects forward
  • Identify and seek resolution to all commercialization issues and resource constraints
  • Implement best practices, tools, processes, and project management decision-making responsibilities
  • Play an integral role in the groups innovation activities

To apply, you must be a proven commercial leader with a proven track record of success in building commercial strategy in the Food or Beverage industry with the following qualities:

  • Proven knowledge of strategy creation and execution methodologies, best practices, and tools
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects, and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that will enable them to earn trust at all levels
  • Proven listening, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build credible relationships with business leaders, peers, and team members across a large and complex organization
  • A sought-after advisor who can get results through influencing
  • Successful track record managing complex, cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization from individual contributors to Sr. Management
  • Demonstrable leadership, consultative, and relationship building abilities
