Connect recently appointed a Regional Procurement Director for Asia Pacific region for a multi-billion consumer products group. A brief overview of this assignment is provided below.

The Brief

The appointment of an internationally experienced, regional expert as Procurement Director of Asia Pacific for a $Multi-billion consumer products group. Key requirements included deep regional experience of procurement in a complex, international group and the ability to develop strong relationships with executive and operational management teams across the globe. 

The Process

Internationally experienced Procurement Leaders based locally within Asia Pacific and other regional markets were identified, assessed, and shortlisted as appropriate. The ability to upskill technical competence, embed structure, process, governance, and systems, and build a regional centre of excellence were high priority requirements. The search process resulted in a diverse shortlist of talented procurement executives with track records from leading international groups. 

The Result

A rigorous client side assessment process which moved at pace thanks to a carefully constructed shortlist, based on technical, cultural and change management capability. Two stand out candidates were taken to the final stage, resulting in a successful appointment and buy-in from all key stakeholders.
